Mahalaxmi Vrat 2023: Significance

Devotees who observe the fast begin their day by taking a holy bath.
An idol of Goddess Lakshmi is placed on a chowki, and a Kalash (a pot) filled with water and rice is kept in front of the goddess.
The Kalash is adorned with betel and mango leaves, and a coconut is placed on top.
As per tradition, a red thread with sixteen knots is tied to the left hand of the devotee.
Durva grass is kept during the puja, and after the puja is completed, it is dipped in water. A few drops of the water are then sprinkled over the body.
