Rich Homie Quan is an American rapper and singer. He was born Dequantes Devontay Lamar on October 4, 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents separated when he was young and as a result he was forced to move back and forth between homes. Quan attended Ronald McNair Sr. High School, where he excelled at poetry and creative writing. He also played varsity baseball which earned him a scholarship offer from Fort Valley State University. Quan declined the scholarship and pursued music instead. He was inspired by artists like Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy and T.I.

CAREER
Quan gained early recognition with his 2008 single “Stay Down”. He was later signed to the independent label T.I.G Entertainment. His debut mixtape, I Go In On Every Song, was released in April 2012. He followed up with a second mixtape, Still Goin In, which featured the single “Differences” in August 2012. Quan’s single “Type of Way” was released in 2013 by Def Jam Recordings. The song peaked at #50 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Quan has released a total of 7 mixtapes and 13 singles. His latest mixtape, ABTA: Still Going In, was released in November 2015 as a digital download. His charted singles include “Walk Thru”, “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)”, and “Ride Out”. He’s collaborated with artists including Young Thug, Problem and 2 Chainz. Quan’s debut studio album, Rich As In Spirit, is scheduled to be released in 2016.

Rich Homie Quan is 5ft 9in tall and has a net worth of $3.5 million. He has three children, Devin, Royal and Khosen. Prior to music, Quan was locked up 15 months for burglary.
